About me
Unlike the stories I like to tell, my life is far from a horror story.
Like most in this world, I have had struggles and my crosses to bare. Fortunately for me, I have had the support of my friends and family to help me through adversity. My husband and mother deserve a particular shout out in this regard.
While my writings do follow the macabre and the horrific, the themes I like to explore boil down to the human experience. I was always told to write what I know, and what I know is being: Hispanic, a son, a brother, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
All this is to say, with my stories expect character-driven stories that promote diversity and inclusion, in a dark and terrifying setting. My name is Gabriel Reyes, and it is a pleasure to meet you!
A Brief History
- Aug 1998 – A Star is Born
- 1999 – 2015 – Mostly Trapped in a Closet
- June 2016 – Graduated High School (7th in my Class but who’s counting)
- Aug 2017 – Finally worked out the pesky Closet Door and came out of it
- Jan 2018 – Met the Love of my Life
- May 2022 – Graduated SNHU Summa Cum Laude (again who’s counting)
- June 2024 – Got Married!
- 2025 – Tried and Failed to Complete a Novel
- March 2026 – Tried and Completed a novel: Toxic
- June 2026 – ReyesWrites is Born!
As a horror writer, could I survive a Horror movie?
It’s what you are all wondering, so let me answer this upfront: Absolutely not!
I have my headphones in way too often to be aware of my surroundings. Also, I have two adorable dogs to keep alive so there is that added challenge.
